I was first introduced to Pestle & Mortar at the end of summer last year, and fell head over heels for their Pure Hyaluronic Serum which I love for calming and plumping my skin. As a result, I was excited to try their most recent offering - the Hydrate Moisturiser.

Pestle & Mortar Hydrate* is an effective moisturiser which delivers powerful hydration and anti-ageing benefits to the skin. It contains a mixture of Peptides which promote collagen production, and anti-oxidants Pomegranate and Green Tea Extract which help to combat free radical damage. Jojoba Oil also helps to restore the skin's natural oils and moisture barrier. It's anti-ageing properties promise to dramatically reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and help leave the skin appear smooth and plumped.

Although turning 30 is not as distant an event as I'd like, I'm lucky not to have any fine lines or signs of ageing (so far) so wasn't able to test the moisturiser's ability in this area. However, finding a good light-weight moisturiser is always something that's top of my list. I have a plethora of evening moisturisers that I like to slather on my face overnight, ranging from really thick, to light and hydrating. However I always find it difficult to find a moisturiser light enough to work for me in the day. My skin isn't hugely oily (it's normal/combination) however I do find that whenever I apply moisturiser in the morning, my skin doesn't cope well and my makeup has dripped off my face by the afternoon. I love this moisturiser as it's so incredibly light, yet richly hydrating and seems to work well with my skin in the morning provided I let it sink in first.

The packaging is a little different to traditional moisturisers - it has a press down lid with the product dispensing from the middle however this does give it a novelty factor and certainly doesn't cause any difficulty, although it does make it a little bigger for travelling. This aside, it's definitely the moisturiser I'm reaching for most at the moment. It leaves my skin feeling soft and hydrated and when paired with the Pure Hyaluronic Serum it's a match made in heaven.

Pestle & Mortar Hydrate is available from pestleandmortarcosmetics.com for £38.
