Liz Earle is an iconic British brand and one that's renowned for creating amazing botanical skincare (their Cleanse & Polish range being amongst my favourites). The brand are turning the ripe old age of 20 this year, and are celebrating with the release of a new fragrance - Botanical Essence No. 20* which plays homage to the most romantic of all flowers, the rose.

Fragrances aren't something I've tried from Liz Earle before, so when I attended a recent Liz Earle press day, I was delighted to receive an early release of this fragrance to try. The scent encorporates bright and uplifting top notes of pink pepper, bergamot, rose water and mandarin esential oil, with turkish rose and carrot and jasmine sambac. The base notes of sandalwood, amyris and vanilla bean blend beautifully together to create a scent that's fresh, floral and delicate.

Typically, rose scents aren't my favourite as they can often be quite rich and heavy. This is completely the opposite however, as the scent of the rose mixes with the fresh citrus and spicy pink pepper to create something that's light, bright and in my opinion ideal for day time wear. I've also got to mention the charming soft pink bottle that will make be the perfect companion for a dressing table.

The Botanical Essence No. 20 Eau de Parfum is available from October 2015 for £49.00 for 50ml at Liz Earle, John Lewis, Boots and on QVC.
