I've just got back from a weekend in Dusseldorf where I went to visit one of my best friends who lives in the city. I've only ever been to Germany once before, for a 24 hour business meeting in Hamburg, so it was safe to say I didn't have much to benchmark my trip against and was excited to explore. As my priority was to catch up with my friend, I didn't take my camera out as much as I'd planned to, but I did manage to capture a flavour of the city to share with you.

Dusseldorf is probably most well known for it's boundary-pushing architecture and it's understandable to see why - the city has a plethora of uniquely beautiful buildings, yet ones that are incredibly complimentary to one another at the same time. It has a vibrant night life, which I experienced first hand as I was there for Germany's triumphant win against Italy in the Euros, and found myself singing the night away in a karaoke bar to celebrate. It's a green and modern city with lots to do, good food and friendly people so a place I'd definitely recommend visiting.

Have you been to Germany? What's your favourite city?
