I mentioned in a recent holiday essentials post, that I'm a cream deodorant convert. For the longest time I've been using aerosol deodorants, and with a dislike for roll-ons, I've never bothered to try anything outside my norm.
With that being said, I eventually felt like I'd read enough praise for cream deodorants to warrant trying one for myself - and I haven't looked back. My cream deodorant of choice is Dove's Maximum Protection Go Fresh in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena and it's absolutely lovely. The scent is fresh but not over powering, and it provides me with the best protection I've ever had in a deodorant. With the hot weather recently, I've really put it to the test!
Dove's Maximum Protection Go Fresh range is scientifically designed to deliver 48 hour freshness through odour-fighting technology. As with all Dove products, it also cares for the skin as it includes 1/4 moisturising cream meaning your sensitive under arms are constantly cared for.
For optimal effect, Dove recommends applying the cream before going to bed - as the protection lasts throughout the following day (even after showering). I have tried this, and can confirm I didn't smell or feel sweaty the next day - but in the hot weather I prefer to use it in the morning as to be honest this feels normal to me and helps me feel clean and prepared for the day. My main concern with roll-on deodorants is that they can leave me feeling sticky after use and this was one of the main reasons I never defaulted from an aerosol formula. However with cream deodorants I don't find this and am able to get dressed almost immediately.
I can say with some certainty that I have no intention in going back to an aerosol deodorant. Whilst the cream form costs more (£4.99) than it's aerosol counterpart (£2.00) it also lasts much longer so I'm pretty convinced it works out more cost effective in the long run.
Have you tried a cream deodorant? What's your favourite?
