The nights are drawing in earlier and there's a noticeable chill in the air which can only mean one thing - Autumn has arrived. I personally love the season, it's such a cosy, comforting and exciting time and as a result, I wanted to share the top reasons why Autumn is my favourite season of all.

Candles
It will be no surprise, but the abundance of candles at this time of year are one of the main reasons I love the season so much. Whilst I burn candles no matter the season, I definitely ramp up my usage at this time of year - because they're so fitting to the dark, cold nights and make everything feel more homely.

The Fashion
Autumn has always been my favourite season for fashion. I love being able to pull on big cosy jumpers and winter boots to fight off the chill in the air. I've always thought that my complexion suits the Autumn colours so love any excuse to be able to rid myself of my summer clothes and fully embrace layering up for Autumn/Winter.

Comfort Food
I think the general consensus at this time of year is not to worry about the diet anymore because you've got a whole year before you have to get in a bikini again. I love a good comfort meal at any time of year, but going to the pub for a Sunday roast or tucking into a warm bowl of Macaroni Cheese is all the more satisfying when it's cold and dark outside.

Halloween
I'm not actually interested in the fancy dress/scary side of Halloween but I do love a good Pumpkin. I like decorating my house with them and making everything look festive and cosy.

Fireworks
As the nights get darker, with it comes skies illuminated by fire works. I can't wait for Bonfire Night, wrapped up in a hat and scarf staring up at a beautiful display of fireworks in the sky. It's such a traditional time of year and one that really marks that Christmas is only round the corner.

Countdown to Christmas
Speaking of Christmas, when Autumn arrives it marks the start of the festive season. Once Halloween and Bonfire Night are out the way we know it's only a matter of time before Christmas is upon us. Whilst I don't particularly love waking up and getting back from work in the dark (and feeling a bit like a badger in the process), I do love leaving work and seeing Oxford Street covered in Christmas lights, dodging people doing last minute Christmas shopping as I make my way home. Nothing epitomises Christmas to me more!
