One of my Christmas presents this year from my boyfriend was an amazing three day trip to Paris to celebrate the start of 2015. I adore everything about Paris, it's such a cosmopolitan city with so much to do and beautiful things to look at wherever you turn.

We stayed in an apartment close to the Eiffel Tower which made everything pretty accessible (although Paris is a great city to see by foot) and meant that every evening we were able to walk home from the Eiffel tower and catch it twinkling on the hour.

We've both been to Paris before but still visited the famous sites - the Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Arc De Triomphe and of course had multiple trips into Sephora. We were incredibly lucky with the weather as the sun shone all day, every day with beautiful blue skies and crisp winter air. As it was so soon after Christmas, there were still lots of Christmas markets and activities going on which made for a great atmosphere, so I'd really recommend going to Paris at this time of year.

On New Years day I was treated to a meal in a restaurant called Ciel De Paris which is situated on the top floor of the Montparnasse Tower. The food was absolutely incredible and the views of the city at night were totally breathtaking. Whilst going up the Eiffel Tower at least once in your life is a must, seeing the Eiffel Tower from a height is in my opinion, even more spectacular.

There were far too many photos for me to do a day by day of our time, but here are some of my favourites...

We saw this bizarre animal restaurant on our walk from the Notre Dame to the Pont de l'Archevêché (Love Lock Bridge). It was quite surreal to watch, but the dogs and cats were so cute that I couldn't help get sucked in by yet another tourist trap.

This little guy was a particular babe...

I'm a serious crepe fiend whenever I go to France, and Paris was no different, I ate them at every available opportunity...

The markets were great as they had a real hustle and bustle to them and were selling a mixture of arts and crafts and lots of classic french produce.

We visited the Palais Garnier (Paris Opera building) which was a first for me and I was totally blown away by how stunning it was.

It looked even more beautiful at night...

We popped into the Galeries Lafayette which is essentially the Parisian version of Selfridges. I wasn't looking to do any shopping in there but the building itself was gorgeous!

How did you celebrate NYE?
